Better Than Ever!

Whenever I find myself dwelling on the not-so-good, I try to remind myself of the good things in my life.

I just celebrated my 8th anniversary. My boyfriend and I are more connected than ever and things are really good. Some couples find themselves in a bit of a rut after being together for a long time, but I'm really thankful that we haven't become one of those couples. We have just as much fun and are just as in love as we were years ago. Things are better than ever :)

A month or 2 ago, we got news from the vet that our cat Willow was sick. She had lost a lot of weight & blood test results showed issues with her thyroid and some elevated liver and kidney levels. They put her on thyroid pills. Willow is going on 15, so this was really not good news. We took her in for more blood tests 2 weeks later and she had gained half a pound! Great news!! And when we got back the blood test results, Willow's levels were all back to normal!

I Chose the Wrong Day to Start Running, Didn't I?

We went tonight, around 8pm, thinking it'd be cooler later in the day. I think it was like 95 here at 8pm. But we ran (and yes, walked) about 2 miles. It was sticky and gross and except for the occasional nice breeze, it was too hot to be running outside. But we weren't alone. There were a few other committed runners out today too. Maybe the heat was a motivator of sorts. Kind of like, if you can do it today, you're a rockstar. And we did it. 

Ok so I have one confession. After our run, we walked to get ice cream. But we did walk there. And I only got one scoop! And we conquered a mean hill coming home. We deserved it though, right? Ok, next time we won't get the ice cream. But I am proud of us for what we did tonight. We're rockstars!

Blogger Comment Issues

It seems that Blogger is having a comment issue today. If you post a comment to me and then don't see it on my blog, don't worry. I'm getting your comments in my email, they're just not showing up on my blog. Hopefully, Blogger is on it and will have it fixed soon.

Follow Me Back Tuesday!

I had a pretty busy weekend and I'm just getting back online now. So, now I have to play catch up. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! It was pretty hot here. We were car-less because of a mix-up with the car rental place, so we biked to dinner on Sunday night and walked to see the fireworks. It was really fun and nice to get some exercise, but I'm paying for it today. I can only imagine what my legs will feel like tomorrow...
