Too Early For Advent Calendar Shopping?

I have always loved Advent calendars. I love the countdown. I love the anticipation of Christmas that comes with opening each little door every day until Christmas. My grandmother sent us an advent calendar every year growing up and I remember loving the days I got to open that little door  and see what was inside. It was such a fun way to countdown to the big day.

The advent calendars I was used to as a child were heavy quality paper with little doors to open with animals or treats printed on the paper inside. More recently I've seen more and more creative advent calendars. Wooden boxes with tiny drawers with chocolates inside, clotheslines of tiny stockings or mittens numbered for each countdown day, and even handmade quilts with numbered pockets to hide a treasure inside.
